5 Steps To Bring Spring Into Your Home

Spring is officially in the air, flowers are blooming, the nights are staying lighter for longer, the air is getting warmer and we’re all eating alfresco.

With all this change outdoors and the fact that the British weather is widely unpredictable, we wondered how do we continue this inside and bring some of the ease of Spring into our homes? That way we can enjoy every ounce of this season, inside and out, come rain or shine.

With all that in mind, we’ve put together a simple guide to help you transform your home into an oasis of fresh garden blooms, pretty pastel tones and eye-catching accessories. Here are 5 simple ideas to get you started.

1. Tackle a Spring clean

Spring is the perfect time to re-organise, de-clutter and deep clean your home. Nothing feels more satisfying than a clean, organised house.

Getting rid of dirt, dust and unwanted clutter can help give your home room to breathe. Remember less is more and de-cluttering your surfaces will leave you feeling lighter and refreshed, just like the season.

2. Display Seasonal blooms

One of the most telling signs of Spring is how colourful, fresh and airy everything becomes. The seasonal blooms that appear at this time of year are a great way to bring an uplifting feel to your homes’ interior.

Tulips infused with colour or golden daffodils are a great way to inject a Spring statement. We recommend displaying these loosely in vases on your window sill to brighten any interior.

If you fancy going one step further, you could even spruce up your front door with a Spring wreath.

3. Add Vibrant Colour

Decorating with Spring colours is a sure-fire way to dust away the Winter blues. Think single-block colours that make a statement. Pastel hues such as yellows, greens and blues that echo Spring-time.

Consider the Pantone Spring/Summer 2021 colour trends that this season, are inspired by ‘hope and optimism’ as a reaction to the current restrictions we are living through.

We’d suggest a fresh lick of paint on the walls, or perhaps highlight pieces of furniture by up-cycling them? If you don’t fancy decorating then there’s always adding a splash of Spring coloured accessories throughout your home.

4. Introduce a Spring scent

We spend so much time perfecting the interior to our homes with the perfect pieces of furniture, we often don’t consider the seasonal scent that really plays a huge part in making a house a home.

Spring fragrances are all about celebrating nature. So it almost goes without saying that floral scents are a popular choice, and surely the next best thing to smelling fresh flowers?

Fill your homes with beautiful, mood-lifting candles and diffusers. We’d suggest scents that include Bergamot, Lemon and Mandarin or floral scents that include Neroli, Jasmine and Rose.

5. Light up the nights

Don’t stop inside, with the lighter nights and warmer weather there’s no doubt we’ll be out in our gardens making the most of the opportunity to dine alfresco. It’s time to think about installing some outdoor garden lights so that you can enjoy the space well into the evening.

The perfect garden illumination should create a relaxing ambience to help make your garden look pretty after dark. Think solar stakes amongst the flowers, fairy lights around your garden furniture and twinkly lanterns in the trees.
